Harvest Hills Veterinary Hospital, 8108 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City 73162
At Harvest Hills we are able to perform a variety of surgeries that your pet may need. These include general surgeries such as spays,
neuters and dentistry, and specialty emergency surgeries, abdominal and thoracic surgery, orthopedics and others. We have a separate surgery suite that has state of the art monitoring equipment and a full array of surgical instruments. We have the latest anesthetics to help provide safer procedures. A technician monitors your animal during the entire procedure and during recovery until you pet is awake. Our staff believes in aggressive pain control for every patient, we believe that proper control of pain makes animals heal better, quicker and more comfortable. We frequently use several different types of medication while there are in the hospital and send home medication to give as well.
Intensive Care Unit
If you pet needs to be hospitalized, Harvest Hills is fully equipped to keep them in intensive care situations. We have intravenous fluid pumps, warmers to help control body temperature, an isolation ward, and a veterinary technician to help the doctor monitor them while they are here.
We have an in-house blood analyzer that allows us to get blood results for most situations in just a few minutes. We can run a variety of tests, including complete blood counts, blood chemistries, cytology, and more. We are also capable of running more extensive tests through an outside lab that usually gives us results in less than a day.
Dr. Reser has taken special education courses for physical therapy. He has been working with animal rehabilitation for several years now and had many successes. We can help create protocols after surgery or injuries to be done at home or in the hospital.
Full-Service Veterinary Care
Harvest Hills Vet Hospital offers full-service care. We perform many routine procedures, such as vaccinations and preventative health exams, in addition to emergencies, special surgeries, radiographs, dentistry and more.
During normal office hours we are capable of seeing any emergency. After our normal hours our emergencies are seen by a near-by veterinary hospital that specializes in after hours emergencies.
We use AVID microchip to implant in dogs, cats, ferrets and other exotics. These are small microchips that enable your dog to be identified without a collar. This protects them not only if they escape your house, but also in proving ownership. The chips can be easily scanned for and most veterinary hospitals and rescue shelters are able to check for these. It literally can mean the difference between life and death for some dogs and cats.
Dental problems are common in our pets just as they are in us. Most dogs will need to have their teeth cleaned every year once they are adults. In order for this to be done properly they are sedated and kept on an anesthetic. The teeth are scaled for tartar, polished and a fluoride treatment is applied. During these procedures we can also detect damaged teeth and treat them as needed with our state of the art dental equipment.
We offer packages for vaccinations and other routine services that are recommended such as heartworm tests and fecal parasite checks. A semi-annual exam is also recommended for most pets, and during the exam any vaccines that are needed will be given. These are included in the package price so that there are no hidden charges for extra vaccines, it is based on what your individual pet needs.
We have large boarding runs and full-time kennel technicians that take care of your pets while you are away. During their stay we offer playtimes, where they can play in our large play yard, be petted, brushed and given one-on-one attention and a treat.
